Limitless

In my last post I mentioned a film premier event we were off to. Now the film is on general release I can let you know a bit more about it.

Earlier in the year I was asked to work as a consultant for a TV safety company who wanted to film a movie star climbing on a big dam in Switzerland. Given my previous work on dams, it was thought I might be a good person to ask.

I went with a bunch of TV folk on a recce for a few days to check out whether it could be possible to do what the producers were asking for. With slender time frames and dodgy weather it looked like a big ask, but in the end they decided to go for it. They also asked me if I could do some on-screen work and actually be filmed for part of the film. Well, I couldn't really turn down the opportunity - chances to do that sort of thing hardly ever happen so I said yes.

I am not a big movie goer (in fact if I get to the cinema once a year I reckon that's probably pretty good going)! With this in mind its maybe not suprising that when I was told I'd be working with Chris Hemsworth I had to ask the kids if they knew who that was....! Luckily they did, and quickly informed me that Chris was a major Hollywood movie star so I should probably do a bit of research, and try and be a little bit more professional than my usual fairly laid-back unprofessional self.

Much to my amazment the job happened and it all worked out. I got to be 'on-screen talent' and worked with the big man himself. A pretty cool job to have been offered, and I am very grateful for the chance, not to mention the support of Lucy and the kids who let me swan around in Switzerland for much of February. Knowing you have a solid team at home keeping everything running when an unmissable opportunity comes along is fantastic, and I really appreciate this.

The programme is now being shown on Disney+ and National Geographic, and is called Limitless: Live better now. I appear in the third episode, which is all about risk.
